New Canadian rugby coach introduced

Former All Blacks fullback Kieran Crowley is full of hope and realism as he arrives to take over the Canadian national rugby team.

Crowley inherits a team ranked 15th in the world, sandwiched between Georgia and Russia in the International Rugby Board standings. And a program that, unlike New Zealand, counts its pennies.

But the 46-year-old knows about making the most of his resources. He learned that playing and coaching at Taranaki, a provincial side that is not one of New Zealand rugby’s biggest or most glamorous outfits.
