Faust, how could you suggest playing against the three major European clubs such as Lienster or was that Leicester and the Stade. You forgot Cudmore's team if what you want to is demoralise our Canadians and leave them for dead on the field.

These clubs are full time professionals stocked with the very best of internationals including Jamie Cudmore.

Is this your idea of a joke?

My dear Winger I would not argue with you on the question of the size of the mob screaming from outside the gilded sheep pen. However, it only seems like a "mob" when you remember the size of the faithful pro R.C. diminishes and the size of the gilded (sheep) pen gets smaller.

The current R.C. Board lacks visibility, communication skills and finally leadership with a voice.

God Bless them all.

Actually the more I look at this the more it sounds like good planning form RC for once. They are piggy backing the sevens on top of the IRB funded visit and I expect that they can do both at once, since we have a game during the WC scheduled in Wellington. Sort of killing two birds with one stone and someone else is paying. As for why our dues are so high I doubt this trip affects them. I agree they are high. Not sure about Johns but it is good for Crowley to get a chance to see how the guys perform in the big time with a large crowd, something a lot of them won't be used to. As far as being overkill I wonder how many teams on the IRB circuit have more than one coach. I expect most do.

If the irb is paying for everything then why do we have such high fees for Rugby Canada. Oh that's right they messed up on all the insurance policies over the past 5 years. Winger the rb might or might not be paying for their trip to look at facilities but they won't be paying for them to stay at the Wellington sevens. Canada already has a coach there and having those two there is over kill.

The article says that the trip is at no cost to Rugby Canada. What else do we need to know, and why does it matter?

Sheesh...

I'm all for constructively criticising the National body, but that requires a better understanding of the pertinent details. We have a very impatient and loud minority in this sport that like to explode like a volcano as soon as they see a potential conspiracy...

If nothing else they are entertaining and good for a break from work...

Harry do you know for a FACT that the IRB is picking up the tab? The article on Rugby Canada does not say that the IRB is picking up the tab. Are you just assuming that they are?

It looks like the tab for the trip is being picked up by the IRB so I guess that it won't cost you and I much for this one. But never let facts get in the way of beating up on RC. I don't mind informed criticism and I want accountability as much as anyone. Rugby Canada could do a much better job in the communication of these stories so that people don't jump all over them. Jump right on when appropriate, but get your facts stairght before you do it.

IMHO I think it necessary to send them to NZ to prep for RWC 2011, but it is 1-1/2 away.
We need more games for Canada. Why can't we have Canada vs Leincester or Stade Francais before their season begins.

He isn't bored, he is working hard looking for properties in NZ with Geraint John. If you've seen one gym you've seen them all. All international fields are the same size. The difference is the sheep.

Its surprising that they are not getting paid something given the million dollar salary budget of Rugby Canada. No offence to Crowley but is it worth paying his salary for the amount of games Canada plays. Haven't seen any fixtures for the senior men's team this year. I wonder how many games the senior men's team will play this year. Ireland has about 10 games scheduled for the senior team already this year. Crowley must get really bored.

They can not afford to pay the coaches because the Rugby Canada High Performance Program decided to use the money to send Crowley and John on a vacation to NZ. Like Crowley doesn't already know what the fields and training facilities consist of. Why is Geraint John there with him. Talk about a dog and pony show. Waste of money!

I see on the RC site that the Prarie Wolf Pack are looking to recruit a new coach and manager. I also see from the posting that these positions are volunteer. Is that the the standard for ARC teams or are most of them as paid positions? I'm not looking for the job but I would think that at this level and the time and dedication it would take to properly run a competitive side in what is supposed to be our highest level of domestic rugby they should be looking to something a little higher.
