Can anyone tell me

    Just wondering if anyone on this forum could tell me or knows why RC has two offices.

    In this time of budget cutbacks and IRB money being cut, not to mention the mens coach and assistant, the hp director,the senior mens manager, members of the board all live in BC.

    Doesn't it make sense to have one office in BC instead of one in Ont and one in BC?

    I know from time to time I see it mentioned in different threads but with the IRB money being cut it seemed it was time to bring it up again

    They had just one in Richmond Hill. Why did they have to open a branch office in Victoria. I guess it depends on where you live, but Victoria is a long way from the centre of the universe.

    The office in the West is so situated as a result of our carded players access to the training and many camp facilities at the school of Shawnigan Lake.

    Originally the office was located in Ottawa because of its proximity to the hand that fed it then and still today, Sports Canada.

    Prior to the begining of the Huff & Puff scenario of the likes of Dr. Parfrey, Mr Fixit, Mr Reese's senior and Dr.Fairhurst, Those in the rest of Canada wanted to keep the National office in the East at all costs. The excuse being, as it, Toronto was the centre and pathway to all the goodies, mega corporations and subsequent aggressive raids into their sponsorship market funds.

    The promised land was then that R.C. NSMT would be so over funded through sponsorships that the riches would not just trickle down but would be so much that the would overflow and swamp the rest of rugby with oodles of money.

    And, it was of course an attempt politically to retain some semblance of a National Office as opposed to the whole program being Hi - Jacked by the then strong and heavy handed Mafia of the VIRU.

    Today Newbie, who cares where the epic centre of rugby in Canada is located. It makes more sense as you are saying to uproot and settle for one spot and cut the costs. Not that Grass roots rugby would benefit from such cost savings.

    Afteral, it is just as quick these days for our masters and benefactors to fly direct to Vancouver from Dublin. Likewise it is just as easy to fly in and out of Vancouver to N.Z. if that is where you're family and home are.

    It was petty back then and not much has changed.

    Get rid of both offices and put the office in Newfoundland. It is a shorter flight from Dublin to St John's and we can get our welfare cheque sooner.

    you ever try flying direct toSt Johns from the UK? Sure it is physically closer but you have to go to TO or Montreal, or New Jersey first.
    Who still works in Richmond Hill? I agree that it should be as close to the players as possible.
