Ugh. More catch-phrases. Spies has over 100 points in Super Rugby. So "rubbish" is not really an accurate way to describe him. "Specimen"? A specimen is a sample used to determine properties of a whole. If you think Spies is representative of SA rugby, or perhaps professional rugby players, or perhaps international #8's, then specimen he is. You folks have made the fatal error of mistaking a vague non-sequitor for critical analysis. Too much television sports with it's accompanying nonsensical banter for you.

Everyone understood the word in this context. I'd say the use of "Fatal Error" is just as catch-phrasey, but now I'm in danger of being as pretentious as you. Nice derail.

The thread was a discussion of the game, and one comment on the game reflected an opinion that Canada's pack was short and light. I expressed the opinion that it was short in comparison to competetive international sides, and slow, citing Spies as an example of a fast #8. No derail. Facts and disdain only seem pretentious when you're dumb but opinionated.
