Live audio stream only from Rugby Canada. Video rights are held by Setanta. You can sign up for sentanta Broadband for only 15.00 per month and you will get all the churchill cup games plus all there other fare. They have tons of soccer lots of rugby (ie world juniors, magners, gp and even HC) but some of the really high end stuff like the june tours and fall tours are all pay per view and extra. Cancel anytime. If you got it just for the churchill cup it will still only cost you $5 per game for the canada games. a pretty good deal if you are interested.

    Strategic Kicking was not good.
    Rucking was really good.
Jason Marshall (BC Bears)I think played well in scrum.

    Definitely notice 7's like passing

My prediction is that DTH by the end of his carrer for Canada will be the all time try scoring leader surpassing Winston Stanley.

Yeah, wouldn't be suprised if DTH one day passes Stanley...

While the score line was convincing, our ever present problems in the scrum don't seem to be getting any better. Any tightheads in the GP with Canadian grandparents? I wouldn't mind seeing Crowley poach one in time for the Autumn tour. Even today we got shoved around, imagine what it will be like against New Zealand or France. It did improve when Marshall and Dolezel came on, but lots of work must be done, we no longer can bank on Thiel or Rod the Cod solving scrum troubles.

Overall though, good effort. Hopefully the lads can cash in on a tired France A side and book a ticket to the final.

My reflections after the game. There were flashes of brilliance and then moments frustration. You can undeniably see Kieren Crowley's kiwi influence. They are much more willing to put the ball through the hand and go wide. Looking to run with the ball from inside their own 22, when there was even a hint that it was on, was definately the game plan. I thought the first 20 and last 20 they played to their strength and starved Uruguay of possesion and but for couple of balls that didn't go to hand it could have been 28-0 at the 20 minute mark. The knock to the head that Pritchard took definately took its toll and after he had come back on he was definately not the same and that hurt.

No doubt the scrum struggled during to the two middle quarters and I thought that Canada played into Uruguays hand allowing them to slow the game down. Combine that with some pretty good tactical kicking on their part and they were unlucky to be staring at the scoreline as it was at 60 minutes. However, I don't think the problem was on the tighthead side but on the loosehead. While I make no claim to understand the dark art of what goes on in front row, Pablo Lemoine the Uruguain tighthead is a seasoned old vetran with about a dozen years of GP and Top14 experience and he definately had the measure of Wooldridge. That turned around when the replacements starting coming on for both sides. It would have been interesting to see how things would have gone had Tkachuk been available.

I like Phil Mackenzie but I think he is misplaced at 12. He played all year at 13 and had a fair bit of success there. While he had a couple good touches, he seemed a little out of place. DTH is all class and wouldn't be out of place in very many lineups. Justin Mensah-Coker had, in my opinion, the best game I had seen out of him in a long time and was one of my honourable mentions for MoM with DTH. His defense, which has been criticized was solid, he had some very good runs and most importantly his work rate was vastly improved. For the last couple of years he has looked uninspired but today he was all over the park and seemed to make some good decisions.

Overall a pretty fair performance. Definately some work ons this week but for a first up in six months I was moderately impressed. Others that stuck out in my mind would be Fairhurst and Munro. I felt they both were very solid all game long. Tactical kicking was a little aimless but then the plan seemed to be to move the ball through the hand rather than the boot so the boot was more a last option rather than planned strategy so that might account for that.

I'll admit to being pretty nervous about next week though, that French side looks as good as anything that has been seen in the Churchill cup and while it is an 'A' side I figure that it would definately be equivalent to a top 8 country. Catching them sleeping or hurt is about the only way that the score isn't going to get ugly.

Anyways lets hope for a good game next week and then a good old fashioned shoeing of the Americans in the plate final :)

How old is Pablo Lemoine? I'm pretty sure he was playing back in 99 when Urugauy made there first WC appearance. Is he still playing in France. I know he was there a long time but I don't remember him playing in England. Who was he with in the premiership?

He is 35 now and plays in Unuguay. He played for Bristol for two years before going to France. He was on the same team as Al Charon.

Well not always, I played in three games last year at the age of 53 and it only worked one out of three. I had two wins out of three games but in one I was on the younger team. We (Canada) win by 42 points and some are still complaining. As always Go Canada Go and see you in New Zealand.
