Yeah, I'm surprised about Hirayama's absence. What about Tkachuk? No Phil Mack? Does Jamie Cudmore's absence from the list mean that RC has finally given up on him ever appearing in red, black and white jersey ever again?

Thats about what I thought it would look like. Good to see McKeen, Spicer, Tait, and Ryan Hamilton (the only guy Ive gotten into a rugby fight with).
They should beat Uruguay, close defeat by France A.

Yes, I thought Hirayama injured himself at the last 7`s stop.

Hirayama is selected for the 7's. Dala and Mensah-Coker are the only ones selected for both.

Tkachuk and Cudmore need rest more than more games. I hope they are still involved.

Mack is BRILLIANT! at 7's and club, but Sean White is a much better choice for this competition.

So much depends on progress in the front row. Canada cannot afford to be bullied the way we have been recently. Hopefully Tiedeman, Woolridge, Dolezel etc. are coming along. Also hopeful the Pletch experiment has run it's course.

Sorry to see Jebb Sinclair out.

Certainly Cudmore is a regular starter for C/A but, while I haven't seen the lineup yet, I suspect a number of his starting teammates who have played just as many minutes this year will be lining up against Canada when France A take the field. Tkachuk is usually only coming off the bench for glasgow. He has had a few starts but usually in the reserves. You wouldn't think that he is that exhausted.

I agree Mack is brilliant at 7's but an article I read Halfbacks are the kings now seems to indicate the talent set that Mack brings could really be utilized.

I was thinking of the age factor more than minutes played.

I agree with your point about #9 skills but still think White has all those skills plus 4 inches and 20 lbs. on Mack.

Just have to note that we are talking about 2 Oak Bay High scrum halves.

Switch DTH and Evans and add Wooldridge in place of Tiedman and you have your best team, I think. Go canada go.

I know that Crowley had experimented with DTH at 13. Primarily, I think to get him more ball. Based on lasts years test series. I'm not sure that it was successful.

Some intersting ommissions, Cudmore, Tkachuk and Mack already mentioned, but what about Jeb Sinclair, Burak, Van Camp and the Pletches

Finally the Pletchs have been put on the scrap heep.

On the scrum 1/2, Sean White is better than Mac and adds more to the game. The problem we have is the huge hole in the centres. I still believe Nanyak Dala should be playing in the centres.

I like Dala and can see the attraction of having him in the centre, 13 rather than 12, I like Spicer there. I don't think he has the distribution/kicking skill to be effective at 12.

I agree with the switch of DTH to the wing but would instead move Evans to 14 and see Phil Mackenzie in at 13. PM has been playing there for Coventry all year and has had some very good results on a pretty bad team.
