Eastdale beat Trenton in PK's. Game was tied 3-3. Great game by 2 schools that stick to playing rugby.

They did lose 31-0 to Stouffville on Sunday as part of the red hot. If they are good then they will show-up in Belleville in the coming weeks for 'AAA' COSSA.

Just an update on the tournament. New date is Thursday May 10th. Had to move the date due to a track and field event on May 11th at the same location. Parks and rec double booked the complex. Anyways, Moira SS had to drop out so new senior entry is Rockland DHS which is coached by Andrew Lawford. 3 out of the 8 senior teams are in top ten from week one by the Ontario Rugby.

Below is the local article that appeared in the Belleville paper today. I would like to thank all the refs and touch judges that made the CSS tournament a great day of high school rugby in Ontario.
Brock Bulldogs put bite on rugby tournament title
Fourth annual McDougall Insurance Chargers Invitational at Sills Park complexBy Intelligencer Staff
The Brock Bulldogs backed up their bark with an equally impressive bite, at the fourth annual McDougall Insurance Chargers Invitational senior boys rugby tournament Thursday at M.A. Sills Park, Fields 3 and 4.
Brock High School, from Cannington, went undefeated to capture the senior crown with an exciting 10-8 victory over Ottawa Ashbury College in the championship game. The visiting Bulldogs capped a perfect day with a 3-0 record.
In the consolation final, in an all-local affair and a potential Bay of Quinte championship preview, the 2011 OFSAA runner-up Trenton Tigers got past the host Centennial Chargers, 13-10.
Brock — the second-rated team in the province, according to the latest rankings released by Rugby Ontario — started the day with a tough 12-5 win over Centennial, then eliminated the 2011 OFSAA AAA champion Uxbridge Tigers, with Belleville Bulls forward Scott Simmonds in the lineup, 15-5 in the championship semi-finals.
In the final, Brock played the last five minutes shorthanded after an undisciplined Bulldog player was yellow-carded for committing two fouls while in an offside position. However, the remaining 14 Brock players held off a late Ashbury rally to take the tournament title.
Trenton’s path to the consolation final took a frustrating turn for the Tigers in the day’s opening match when they battled to a scoreless draw with Pickering Dunbarton. The first round of overtime penalty kicks decided nothing, then the visitors won the sudden-death round, 1-0, to advance to the championship side of the draw.
Tigers went on to clobber the Whitby Sinclair Celtics, 32-0, in their consolation semi-final, while Centennial handled Ottawa Rockland, 26-8.
Other preliminary results were: Uxbridge 19, Rockland 14; Ashbury 38, Sinclair 0.
A junior round-robin was also held Thursday, with the following results:
Centennial 15, Sinclair 14; Centennial 15, Dunbarton 10; Dunbarton 17, Ashbury 0; and Sinclair 46, Ashbury 0.
Sinclair was coached by Belleville native and Centennial graduate, Karl Svoboda, a 10-year veteran of the Canadian national team who retired as an active player in 1995 after 24 international appearances with the red maple leaf on his chest. He praised tournament organizers — led by a fellow CSS grad, Scott Terhaar — for a job well done.
“Scott and the boys ran a top-notch tournament,” said Svoboda. “Overall, very impressed. It was also great to see several old friends, and even a former teacher of mine — Steve Waller.
“We hope to be back next year.”
