NSWT event @ SLS - notwithstanding the game

    Not much of a crowd at all. I would guess 100 AT THE MOST once you discount all the students there. Poor planning by RC to have a test on a Monday @ 4:00p - especially since it's light out until at least 9. And knowing how many of the people there likely got in for free, I hope the girls don't get the email soon: "We tried to raise money for you @ your home games, but you're unmarketable so we need some more $ to go to the World Cup, yours truly, RC".

    And what a disgusting job by the announcer. He spoke throughout the game while play was on, even commenting about how difficult the conversion was, AS THE KICKER LINED IT UP AND PREPARED TO KICK. As the hooker readied to throw in to the lineout was another choice moment this dude like to hear his voice. Typical RC response from Jen Niewendyk, the senior staffer there when I raised the issue with her... "Yeah I'm running the event but he doesn't work for RC so I can't ask him to stop".

    I thought a PA announcer's job involved letting the crowd know who scored, and any substitutions. The way buddy yesterday blabbered it was as though he was on a TV broadcast. And not only blab, but pander to the crowd as though they've never seen rugby, and quite often mis-call things, or make things up.

    I don't know what was worse:
    - his continued speaking after being asked to stop (very politely) by someone in the crowd; or
    - the absolute lack of response from RC when the issue was raised with them.

    I even offered to take over!

    Brittany Waters has been substituted, I'm not sure by who.

    (The crowd at this point fully realizes he is a joke)

    Oh yes Heather Moyse (he prononuced it moy-zee)

    you couldn't hear mooch on the stream cause this muppet yabbered on all game. he was a disgrace.

    during international games you cannot pronounce players names incorrectly. that's just wrong.

    Rugby Canada are the worst thing about rugby in canada. these nswt girls would do so much better without their support. so much.............
