I just got word this morning that Simon Allen, better known as Tout Le Monde on these forums, has passed away.
I don't have any other details, and maybe somebody from the Aurora Barbarians club can provide something.
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Allen on a number of occasions, and would like to pass on my condolences to the Barbs, the Richmond Hill/Aurora rugby community and to the Allen family.

Crap...
Simon was a gentleman. Whenever I was reffing up that way, we always ended up having a chat about this and that, the game in general, the great work Aurora was doing to build a club with real roots in the community, and even non rugby stuff!
As is inevitable when you are in the middle we'd have times when our views of situations didn't quite mesh, but it was always friendly, civil and good fun.
Simon brought a lot of energy to the game. He was fun to be around, and always, always, always had good ideas.
My condolences to his family, his club and community.
We've lost a true Rugby brother.

I have lost a great adversary around the table and the green stuff. My sincere condolences to the Allen Family and his beloved Club the Aurora Barbarians.
Simon was a visionary with a strong love and respect for the Game as he learned it in his native land. Simon was always a "Club Man" May he rest in peace and his memory live on while he plays in that big rugby pitch up there that we all have at sometime read about. He has been picked to play far too soon.
"Subject: Simon Allen 1946-2009
It is with profound regret that the Aurora Barbarians Rugby Football Club acknowledges the passing of one of its most dedicated sons – Simon Allen. Simon fought a 10 year battle with cancer and notwithstanding several victorious rounds he eventually succumbed to the relentless monster.
Simon began his Canadian rugby career with the Irish Canadians RFC. A utility back with moments of brilliance and a keen love for the sport, Simon flourished later in his rugby life as the conscience of the game. An outstanding contributor to the programs at the Aurora Rugby Club and later the Aurora Barbarians, Simon was also an avid supporter of the McMaster University rugby team and held office as the Director of Heath and Safety for the Ontario Rugby Union helping to pen a model for strategic development within our union.
Simon was outspoken in his belief that good health is our most precious possession and that awareness is the first principle to remaining physically and mentally sound. Simon was committed to raising the standard of care and consideration for every rugby player from house league to National Team.
Within the Barbarian family Simon was known for his comprehensive game reporting where his love of club was obvious. His criticisms were useful, his insight far reaching, his enthusiasm never waning. Simon’s rugby world was a shining star. For those that shared his rugby stage, it sparkles a little less brightly today.
Simon is survived by his dear wife Lynn, daughter Tracey and son Shaun. The consummate humanitarian, Simon’s body is bequeathed to science and the family will forgo a funeral in favor of a memorial service and celebration of his life and ours at a time to be determined.
Farewell my friend!
